State boat ramp at the Catt

A friend sent me a text that the state boat ramp at the Catt was closed and it looked like they where building a brake wall around the docks in the creek. Any one know anything on it and how long it will be closed.

They are building two ramps with dock in the middle,They have to be done soon because of steelhead spawning will shutdown NYSDEC work permit.

Be careful if you launch at town launch,full of mud about 1 ft deep and no docks in yet.Also going out into Lake Erie at mouth of creek is a mine field of big trees every where just waiting for your prop!

I heard they were putting 2 more ramps in there, but couldn't tell you when the ramps will be open.

They build a dam so they could pour concrete ramps. If you remember the other ramps were too short.  You could use the Town ramp but no docks yet. Also there a trees in channel so be careful. At present the mouth is blocked by lake ice.

  Not to steal the thread but is there any word of what will be going on at Sturgeon Pt. this spring as far as dredging goes??

The Town of Evans has a cash shortage. They are considering laying off police officers. Meanwhile the state and county are
.collecting a lot of sales taxes and registration fees from boaters and that money disappears in a BLACK HOLE.

  Sounds like we need to find this black hole so we can get our hands on some of these $$$$$!

Just call 1-800 Cuomo  ext. retirement fund. you will find the hole I dont say what hole.

The Bay is full of ice as far as you can see. The dam around the state launch ramps was damaged by the wind and waves. Will have to be repaired and water pumped out. Minor setback.

Try Hidden Harbor if the new ramps aren't done. I have used those ramps many times and they are nice.

Hidden Harbor is still closed for season. The Town of Hanover is open but no docks yet.                                                                The contractor working on the State ramps has it back on track and repaired the dam and pumped out all the water. Looks like he's installing subbase for concrete ramp.  

The NY side of Lake Erie is full of ice from state line all the way to Buffalo. The river is full of ice.
