I have one on my boat, nice unit, easy instal, I’m happy with it. I have the 3d set up that I barely use. Touch screen is awesome!

The fact that you can sync one to another and only have to run a power cord is very cool too. Haven’t done that yet but one of the many things I “need” for my boat.

Ya that’s real cool and I “need” a lot of stuff for my boat too haha does the side scan work good I was reading that some people like humminbird side scan better but I like lowrance better so I’d like to stick with them

it's a great unit for the money. you can plug the x sonic chirp transducers into them and get top of the line sonar. i think the hummingbird mega side imaging is a bit better but for me i use traditional sonar most of the time( i do play with side scan in early spring brown trout trolling). the hds 3 is a discontinued unit so if you want one you better not wait too long.

I have the HDS 7 Gen 3. I just have the standard transducer it cam with. Cable was too short, so I had to cut and extend it. Disappointed with that. But the unit works great. Only used it last summer, when I got it. I also got the Outboard Autopilot and the HDS controls it. I have a 22 foot boat. Came with a 20 ft cable, and by time you route it, it came up 4 feet short.
