Lake Conditions

Anybody drive by the lake know how muddy it is? Between wind and rain I gotta think it's stirred up pretty good.

I can't comment on lake conditions as I'm 3 1/2 hours away, but just wondering when docks are usually pulled from places like Sturgeon Pt, SBH and the Catt ?  Also wondering where the best starting point for walleyes would be this time of year. This is only my second year fishing Erie so still trying to learn the ins & outs I'd like to make 1 more trip out there before putting the boat away for the year. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Safe Boat Harbor Launch in Buffalo will be open all winter,until snow or iced in water stop you from using!

Water in front of Buffalo in Lake Erie is green tint with about 5 ft visibility and water temp is 54 degrees.East River of Niagara is brown from Buffalo River run off.West River is green tint with about 3 ft visibility.

While the launch ramp docks are gone, with hip boots or waders you can launch and retrieve your boat. We launched boats at Woodlawn Beach for years that way. After the water warmed up, you did not need boots. A set it oars helped getting the boat off shore also.

  2 weeks ago SP opening was 1/2 way closed due to sand bar.

Thanks for the info. Looks like SBH just might be the spot. Will post results if we make the trip.
