mostlymuskies Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Was bad enough that the parent company that bought Gander Mtn would have RV Trailers & RV Parts & Assecories, but now they are going to have Baseball Gear, one wonders how small Fishing & Hunting will be!Probably will have Lawnmowers & Garden Furniture as well. dukhnter8 Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 So this will probably turn into another Dick's sporting goods with limited fishing and hunting gear based on the season. Guess the smaller shops will get most of my business along with FishUSA. Gander Mountain was mostly clothes the last few years anyway.
J. Sparrow Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 I imagine it's a pretty "tough spot" for Gander and others to be in........ There's just not enough hunting and fishing foot traffic to support a brick and morter H/F store. Prior to the internet, it was easier to count on locals to do some amount of business in your store, but now it's way easier to click through your order........ you can always find exactly what you want (assuming you know), it takes 5X less time to order, and it's delivered to your door........ Tough to compete with that. The only downside is you need to plan a little better to have the items when you need them. 1

shinintimes Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 Thats fantastic the small mom and pop shops need our money !!! Better then a 16 year old trying to set you up anyway
Fishkiller16 Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 I guess it depends on the 16 year old....lol at 16 years I could have set you up pretty well. But then again I wasn't your average 16 year old. I spent all my free time on the water and in the woods. You don't get that now.Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Erie United Mobile App 4
Norm Moser Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 ya Jim, instead of a lemonade stand in front of your house you were selling bait and lures. 2

We have a very nice bait store down the street from this location that is very well stocked.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
