tdale64 Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 East end tactics Why is bottom bouncing & worm harnesses used so much more on this end of the lake? PA & Ohio guys run sticks & spoons off boards mostly!
Shari Joy Posted May 12, 2017 Report Posted May 12, 2017 They all have there place & time. They all catch fish. Sticks cover more water & catch active fish. 1

meangreencj7 Posted May 15, 2017 Report Posted May 15, 2017 my dad fishes pa and ohio all the time with harnesses, plugs and spoons. everything has a time and a place, I fish ny with all three depending on the time of year and what they are hitting at that time.
Shari Joy Posted May 15, 2017 Report Posted May 15, 2017 Fished Ohio charters & they ran sticks on boards exclusively.
Icebreaker Posted May 15, 2017 Report Posted May 15, 2017 It can be a time of the year thing too. At certain times spinners out perform sticks and the other way around. We fish the whole lake (east and west basin)and use both. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
Dmd113 Posted May 15, 2017 Report Posted May 15, 2017 I have found the further East you go the lighter the bites usually are! Barcelona & west walleye take a lure & release off the big boards. Dunkirk to Buffalo you will drag a few big fish off boards & riggers, have to check lines often.
jigstick Posted May 16, 2017 Report Posted May 16, 2017 (edited) I fish out of Barcelona and North East, and I never bottom bounce jigs while drifting. I troll spoons and stick baits. Never felt a need to change. Ive never "dragged" a BIG fish, but some smaller ones I have. usually on the inlines pulling Reef Runners or deep diving crank baits. Edited May 16, 2017 by jigstick
wojo Posted May 16, 2017 Report Posted May 16, 2017 When I fished Ohio, Erie Dearies were used exclusively. Sent from my iPad using Lake Erie United
