Secert Perch

I heard thru the grapevine that they are getting big perch. Any truth? Still getting them? Would like to head over and get some.

The perch spawn is most likely 85 % done.Yes you can still catch perch,the school's are smaller and moving around.So you have to find them then move with them to stay on the bite.Could be anywhere from 52ft to 60ft from the Cat to Sturgeon Point.

If mud line along shore line from Woodlawn Bar to Cat gets pushed by SW winds the 4 ft visibility will change to 6" quickly. Look at pix I posted under Weather in General Post Area.

My truck is down for transfer case,but friend has agreed to pull my boat to SBH for tonight.I will check out all areas of South & North Gaps to Seneca Shoal passing over to Woodlawn Bar for Walleye, if I mark any Perch I will report on that in the morning as well.

How will the mudline affected the perch in 50 to 60 feet of water?

I just came along the Niagara River,all brown.Driving over the Skyway Bridge looking out on Lake Erie all brown water.Buffalo River brown water.Behind the Harbor Walls brown,maybe 2 to 3 ft visibility.Only clean water is Union Canal,back half of Coke Channel and Buffalo City Slip from General Mills to Sand Piles.I will have to consentrate on flatline trolling those area's for Walleye.

yankmyline,the 50 ft water off the Cat is probably clean,West winds are pushing everything toward Buffalo and mixing brown line that was against the shore into main water of Lake Erie in front of Buffalo.East winds tonight will push it toward the middle and the river will carry the brown water out.Should clear up by tomorrow night.

Coming over this weekend to try flat lining some walleyes. Would it be worth the drive to Dunkirk to find clean water?

Only clean water we found was in North Gap by Donley's Wall.We have it a couple hours,only smallmouth bass is all we caught. Water temp was 48.5!

There were 18 rigs with boat trailers at the SBH when we came in at 10:30 pm.Talked to guys from 4 other boats they all caught nothing in the stained water.I only seen about 4 boats by Woodlawn Bar and 3 boats by Waverly Shoal,could not see where all the other boats went.

I went out to 55 feet of water in front of sturgeon point and it was where the mud ended.  A full degree difference in temp.  No fish on the clear side.  Lots of marks on the mud side.

We marked lots of hooks In front of Erie Basin Observation Tower at the 2nd green buoy going into Bla k Rock Lauch Channel,but no takers.
