Can someone tell me how deep 300' of 8 strand copper will take me?

Too deep lol. I run that for salmon and I'm not positive but I think it will run around 65' with a spoon so even deeper with a crank bait. I've used 50' of 30# in Erie in 24fow with mini diver and spoon and worked great

Totally depends how fast you will be going. Believe it is close to 60' at 2.5mph.

Tnx Finn .  Do l have this right?  Backing on reel arbor, tiny swivel,say 300' of copper,tiny swivel,20' of floro Carbon , lure. Is that correct?  Same as leadcore only no colors ,right???

60 FT unless trolling against the current, if trolling agaunst the current less.

That is exactly how I run Weighted Steel, similar to copper. Not as apt to kink.

I run 300 copper with a 60 foot leader for salmon and find 22 feet per 100 or 66 feet for 300  , 88 feet for 400 etc.

You could invest in a fish hawk td and then you will know exactly plus water temp profile every 5 feet. My brother in law has one and they work great. I'm buying one this summer for my boat.
