Youngblood Posted May 7, 2017 Report Posted May 7, 2017 Larry did you get to fish when you went to long Island ? My buddy and I fished Sandy Hook NJ last weekend for Stripers. Bite was slow but got a few. All trolling nothing on Bunker chunks.
mostlymuskies Posted May 7, 2017 Report Posted May 7, 2017 No I was there to ship a Toyota 4 Runner to Costa Rica from Port of NY.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App 1

Youngblood Posted May 7, 2017 Report Posted May 7, 2017 This was the best I cold do.Fishing was slow there and waves were beating us up some.We tried a couple spots up the Hudson with no luck.
mostlymuskies Posted May 16, 2017 Report Posted May 16, 2017 I got my boat towed to Hanover Launch this morning. Was about 8 boats out off the Cat in 52 ft of water, action was the slowest I have ever seen,4 perch in 4 hours. We moved to Evangola State Oatk area in 50 ft of water, more of the same 2 perch in 2 hours.Last try was off Sliver Creek in 53 ft of water 1 perch in 1 hour.I never seen anyone really catching any numbers of perch today, just all around very slow day.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App 1
Aquaman Posted May 18, 2017 Report Posted May 18, 2017 Sure is quiet here. Anyone on perchSent from my ASUS ZenFone 2E using Lake Erie United Mobile App
mostlymuskies Posted May 18, 2017 Report Posted May 18, 2017 Like I said Tuesday it was tough to catch Perch then!Winds have not been in anyone's favor Wednesday & Today, unless they enjoy rocking hard under anchor.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
jimski2 Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 Post spawn perch usually congregate in the warmest water available like near shore and bay areas. They will suspend in near surface water that do not indicate on your fish finder machine. Our situation now is high turbidity near shore water keeps your fishing shut down. My game plan for the Perch contest is to drift near shore and anchor up on an active area. The high wind tornado areas in Wisconsin presently should hit here on Saturday and be aware of the contest cancellation situation. If this happens a random drawing will be used to determine prize distribution.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United 1
Aquaman Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 How do you know if they can feel and when would draw beSent from my ASUS ZenFone 2E using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Aquaman Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 Cancel...Sent from my ASUS ZenFone 2E using Lake Erie United Mobile App
mostlymuskies Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 I will go to normal spot, use spreader with silver blades and Red beads, put on big emerald shiners and hope for action.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App 1
jimski2 Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 When in less than thirty feet of water do not depend on your fish finder to mark fish as you are just a car length above the bottom. The shadow of your moving boat above the fish and the engine sound along with the pinging click will spook the fish away. The cone of your sonar signal is smaller to mark any fish that may be there. If after ten minutes or so and nothing happens pick up and move. If you are drifting use your tracking system and mark a hot spot and return to it.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
mostlymuskies Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 Good Luck with 30ft of water or less with NE winds pushing cooler upswelled water from center of lake cooler water.I think I will stay from 52 ft to 56 ft!Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App 2
mostlymuskies Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 NE winds if over 20 mph coming across the lake usually upswells deeper water and pushes it toward shore on Cat side of the lake, middle of Lake Erie is still 42 degrees deep. During summer when NE winds push in,the walleye bite slows down and we have to move out to 100 ft +.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
