jimski2 Posted April 9, 2017 Report Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) You can shore fish for perch in the river. A good spot is off Squaw Island below the International Bridge from the Black Rock Lock on the approach wall in the slack water flow area. Be careful for falling in is a bad spot to get out. Bring a folding chair, minnows, cart and a couple lines. Edited April 9, 2017 by jimski2

trapper Posted April 11, 2017 Report Posted April 11, 2017 Fished the inside waters today very ruff to go out to fence found a few today off purina point not fast and furious but not a total lost. talked to dec at handover launch today they told me they wont be putting docks in any time soon to little manpower until they get seasonal help in June told them that their is a lot of money being lost for the area do to limited launch sites he said hidden harbor will be ready before the state launch is ready I guess our money is not green enough for state or town of evens .
mostlymuskies Posted April 11, 2017 Report Posted April 11, 2017 Most likely it is a Liability Insurance Policy that is only in effect May to October for the launch facility that is keeping them from putting in launch dock!Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
trapper Posted April 11, 2017 Report Posted April 11, 2017 Larry you know how hard it is to get clients in your boat that is still on the trailer that can hardly get in it in when in the water then launch boat tie off park truck than pull boat in jump in go fish then do in all revers order when coming back in. I had to cancel tomorrow's trips clients to weak and old to do this this no good launches sucks and cost us all money but the fishing is getting good
mostlymuskies Posted April 11, 2017 Report Posted April 11, 2017 trapper,Then with no launch dock in ,you have to deal with the NY State Parks Dept wanting $500 a year from Charter Captians that permanently or trailer their boat using their facility. trapper Posted April 11, 2017 Report Posted April 11, 2017 yes I know but you know us charter captains are rich and we have is so easy and make so much on our trips

Elmatroller Posted April 13, 2017 Report Posted April 13, 2017 Havent heard anything about sp. Heading out tomorrow probably out of the catt. Ought to be interesting launching solo with no ramp.
yankmyline Posted April 13, 2017 Report Posted April 13, 2017 If there wasn't liability issues I think they could get plenty of volunteers to help setup the launchs in the spring!

Locoman Posted April 14, 2017 Report Posted April 14, 2017 Launching a boat without a dock is not that hard. Been doing it for many years by myself. Just do it and you'll figure it out. 1
jimski2 Posted April 14, 2017 Report Posted April 14, 2017 We launched hundreds of boats daily at Woodlawn Beach. All you needed was a fellow with hip boots and better yet a four wheel drive vehicle. 1
