backoneerie2016 Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 I have 2 - 36 inch big papa trolling bags on my 20ft cuddy. I can get down to 2 mph. Can I stagger the bags to go slower ? What else can I do with them to go 1.5 or so Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
yankmyline Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 I would check your speedometer . Two bags should slow your boat lower than 2mph. 1

Dmd113 Posted March 2, 2017 Report Posted March 2, 2017 old school trick tie a 5 gallon bucket off cleat & run off back of boat in addition to bags will slow you down more. Just down forget to bring in bucket before you power up!

Just down forget to bring in bucket before you power up!And cut few 1" holes in bottom of bucket first, way easier to get back in and out of water. Or another or bigger bags. lineman49 Posted March 3, 2017 Report Posted March 3, 2017 If two 36" bags aren't slowing you down try adjusting your idle speed down a bit.

backoneerie2016 Posted March 10, 2017 Author Report Posted March 10, 2017 Hey guys, well I think I have figured out one of my problems. My boat has a 3.0 mercruiser in it and my idle is set I think too high. I'm gonna lower it 650-700 rpmSent from my XT1650 using Lake Erie United Mobile App

Two bags out in my 19.5' aluminum allows me to run a touch higher in RPMs while still trolling at 1.5 ish. Bags are nice in choppy water too, kind of stabilizes the boat.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App 1

King Slammin Posted March 11, 2017 Report Posted March 11, 2017 I did it in my slip. It's just a set screw on top of the motor.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
