Hunter-Dan Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 In line planer boards Hello, Im looking to buy inline boards, I already own a big jon mast and boards. But am looking at the in line boards. Off shore, churchs or cabelas has a set, anyone have ideas on size or brands for Erie walleyes? Thank you
Dmd113 Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 This depends on what you are pulling. I like the Church TX-22 boards for most applications. But of you are pulling jet divers or copper line I move up to the TX-44's 1
fishmaster Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 If you decide to buy offshore boards buy the OR 12's. They can handle 10 color leadcore easily. You can buy them from Franks Outdoors for 80.00 a set with tattle flags 1

Dmd113 Posted March 23, 2017 Report Posted March 23, 2017 Know your application as all boards will not pull long leadcore or copper lines.
shinintimes Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 I was wondering why do so many guys use the inlines ..when on lake O everyone runs big boards .. is it because you can't get a good release on smaller fish ?
xraytech Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Salmon & Trout on Ontario hit much harder & will definitely release off the boards. Erie guys like inlines better due to tattle flags & ease of use.The sharp guys will be able to tell when you have a smaller fish on a big board that doesn't release so it doesn't matter. We had a silver bass or perch shaking on the outside rod for over an hour but didn't want to mess with other three rods on that side so we let it ride hoping it would be ok. When we ended up clearing rods I snapped it off the board & handed it to my cousins daughter. That little fish was an eye that weighed over 11#'s & was just swimming along with the plug. I never mastered of really cared for inline boards.
waverammer Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 Any 0ne want to show me how to use in line boards? Cleveland area my boat or yours. Willing to pay Call or text me at 440 241 2155 Thanks Ron Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Puking Dog Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 I have a set of off shores and a set of churches. Both have tattle tail flags. Churches a cool cause you can set the flags to up or down when dragging a fish. Churches are also easier to rig, if not using flags, because the have a permanent spring loaded pin on the back of the board. That makes it easier to attach and remove the board, but again that only applies if you don't pay extra for the flags. Both companies will rip you off for the flag kit. They hit your wallet hard for a cheap piece of molded plastic and a spring that probably cost them pennies to make (after paying for the mold that is). And the flags will eventually break off because they are so thin. When they break find some plastic sheet stock and make your own.
waverammer Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks puking dog I would like to go out and have someone show me how to use the in-line boards. Where are you located?ThanksSent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
JustFishin..... Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 I have both the church's boards with flags. And opti-tackle boards with flags. I run them. Both as flags up fish on. For the money the opti's can't be beat. https://northwoodsoutlet.com/product/opti-tackle-ultimate-planer-board-with-spring-flag-system/
garrymny Posted August 5, 2019 Report Posted August 5, 2019 I just ordered the opti tackle ones you linked to but it looks like they go flag down with strike On 3/30/2017 at 11:36 AM, JustFishin..... said: I have both the church's boards with flags. Let me know if you need a picture or more info next time at the big I’ll try and get a picture. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App 1
