mikey eyes Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 Chautauqua Ice Reports 2017 Please report Reports and Conditions this season for Chautauqua and other local Lakes.
RD9 Posted December 14, 2016 Report Posted December 14, 2016 I drove around Chautauqua today. Ice from bridge south. A little bit of ice forming along edges at mayville. Doubt any ice will form or hold any amount snow on south end. Gonna be a bit but we will be out soon
mikey eyes Posted December 20, 2016 Author Report Posted December 20, 2016 Just seeing if anyone made it out on Burtis yet
mikey eyes Posted December 29, 2016 Author Report Posted December 29, 2016 Looks like maybe by sunday for burtis. Any one have any luck on honeoye yet? I never ice fished it before. Any tips?
jimski2 Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 Walleyes are numerous this year but 18 out 20 were shorts.
mikey eyes Posted January 4, 2017 Author Report Posted January 4, 2017 Whats your go to Rapala or Pimple Color and Size for Jigging Walleye in Chautauqua? 1
H20chrome Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Anyone hear any ice reports or have eyes on the lake recently? temps seem to have been good for the last week or so. Mikey Eyes I like the #9 jigging raps, all colors work but i think i have the most legal size on the red/chrome. gold is a good color for spoons in a larger size also
lineman49 Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 FYI, If you want to see Chautauqua lake go to "eastlakewoodweather.com" it looks like a lot of open water, I think this cam is at Burtis bay. Also if you google "Chautauqua lake web cams" there are a few different cams with other views.

Someone checked on Saturday and reported that the ice was only an inch thick at long point I believe. Supposed to be around 50 degrees tomorrow. I don't think we will be ice fishing this year.

I'll have to try it next year from the way its looking.
meangreencj7 Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 my dads having a fit, no ice fishing for him, but he did get out on to pymatuning a few weeks ago with his boat, may be able to do that again this week? maybe.
mr 580 Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 We were starting to get some ice, but yesterdays rain and wind took care of that. Lots on open water today in south basin near me. Has to stay cold for an extended time period for anything to change.
H20chrome Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 Anyone have eyes on the lake recently to see what the water clarity looks like? Id like to get out there in my 12 footer this weekend
RD9 Posted December 26, 2017 Report Posted December 26, 2017 As of yesterday afternoon north end was open water because of the wind. That is good news. Cool temps and calm winds next few days is great news. Won't be long.
