mostlymuskies Posted September 8, 2016 Author Report Posted September 8, 2016 The water clarity behind the walls and along the outer wall going into Lake Erie in the South Gap had a slight green tint and was a half a degree cooler then out in open water.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
mostlymuskies Posted September 8, 2016 Author Report Posted September 8, 2016 Soon as you hit the open water it was gin clear and not much marking on the screen.Inside the Harbor in the South Gap were very large schools of emerald shiners as well, you could also see them breaking the surface as they rose up after dark.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App

dwiese77 Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 I have little experience with electronics... what indicates these are walleye vs. another species?
shinintimes Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 i'm sure in mostlymuskies case it is experience that tells him its walleye but I have been fishing the great lakes for over 25 years and I couldn't tell you the difference between walleye and sheepshead.... LOL ... I have also wondered how guys know the difference
mostlymuskies Posted September 8, 2016 Author Report Posted September 8, 2016 The clutter around the downrigger ball red lines is slag dust in the water, taking away from a full fish arc signal. The arcs would normally be more pronounced with a little red at the center of the arc in only 28 ft of water.Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App

gottadownsize Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 Try adjusting transducer so it aims a little further back. It may pickup the fish later and stay on your screen to give it more arc on the back.
