Starcraft 75 Posted November 20, 2016 Report Posted November 20, 2016 We fished close in at SP in that 52fow a little west and caught 30 perch and they were jumbos....15" fish and one weighed 2#s. NBS Only lasted alittle over an hour, so we went out to our marks deeper and caught a few smalls. We were spoiled after the jumbos. Also in that 52fow we were catching hugh smallmouths 4 & 5#s and an undersize walleye. Beautiful way to end the season..What U been up to? 1
mikey eyes Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 We got 45 keepers on thurs afternoon in the river by Blue water . Mostly between 9-10'' with a couple of 11's and a fat 13 incher. I went back with my father fri am and we brought home 28 more before leaving for hunting camp.
Starcraft 75 Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 You talking Niagara River, and where is Blue water? Where's your hunting camp and good luck hunting. My brother in law and I recently joined a hunting lease called Sunfish Run near Little Valley seeing we lost our old lease in Great Valley last year after 20 years there. Hopefully we can all bring meat home for the freezer and jerky. Good luck and great conversing with you. Great Holidays and Merry Christmas!!!!!
mikey eyes Posted November 22, 2016 Report Posted November 22, 2016 Niagara River. Blue Water marina off Grand island at the end of Ferry Rd. We were in about 11 fow in the boat but it would have been castable off the docks. It can be productive at times late in the year as long as theres bait. Seen a guy in a black lund land a nice musky on a fly too thurs. That looked like a riot. Our camp is in Humphrey off Pumpkin hollow. We lost our spot too but found some state land down the street off Golden Hill that looks promising. Not much luck opening weekend, but i was luckey enough to hit a spike with the bow last week. Good luck to you too and Happy holidays 1
mikey eyes Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 Tried launching out of Sturgeon Sat. No go. Sand bar was huge. Made a call to Miller and launched out of the state launch out of the Catt. Tried about a dozen spots with zero luck. 1
yellowpike Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 Thanks for the up date on st ptSent from my VS986 using Lake Erie United Mobile App

I've been waiting since last April to hit the perch !!!
Starcraft 75 Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 They won't dredge SP till the spring. Can't believe you couldn't find any perch. Was a beautiful day to be out there.
mikey eyes Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 The creeks were still high and muddy. East of the Catt the water was still a little chalky with floating debris Saturday
Locoman Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 Gotta figure out where the bait is. Once you do that start looking for perch schools.
davejoski Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 Allways caught them on the international line in 70 ft Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Erie United Mobile App
yellowpike Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 this early in the year my bet would be Pinehurst or east of st pt two years ago icefishing 60 ft plus out st pt near the line also a few years ago when we had good ice we killed west of the catt in 50 ft yellowpike 1
jimski2 Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 The warmest water with good dissolved oxygen levels at first ice is deep water of 39 degrees F.
Cheezman Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Man, I hope this spring (March) is as good as last spring was for the perch !!! The average size was unbelievable !!! Here's to an early spring !!!!
lineman49 Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Hope for an early spring & I hope we can get out of SP! (sand bar)
yankmyline Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Has anyone seen any bait in the creeks yet?

(sand bar) its probably going to come down to some manual labor on our part get out the waders I have found when you wait for someone else to do something nothing gets done 2
meangreencj7 Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 true that, i keep waiting for someone to do my job at work but it never happens......or even do there job, 1
jimski2 Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 Perch can be taken 24/365. From under the ice to 78 degree surface water temperatures, just find them. Do your own due diligence and do not depend on someone to steer you to them but these columns are a good place to start.
yellowpike Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 Hey Jimski when do they put the dock in at point breeze. Thank JohnSent from my VS986 using Lake Erie United Mobile App 1
lineman49 Posted February 20, 2017 Report Posted February 20, 2017 Can anyone use the PT. breeze docks ?
yellowpike Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Yes I think so. You pay at the gate not a easy ramp for a bigger boat there not. Much room Sent from my VS986 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
shinintimes Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 yellowpike... John how did you make out in Chaumont ?
