jimski2 Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 3 perch, 1 walleye with a few sheep heads and white bass in 60 to 73 foot of water. Frozen salted emeralds worked. No emeralds at Ferry Street dock today or lately. I guess the perch are not in yet as the water temperature is still 74 degrees.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Pequod1 Posted September 22, 2016 Report Posted September 22, 2016 (edited) Do you guys on Erie get a temp drop on an east wind? Lake O drops like a rock with an east wind and just wondering if Erie does the same. Last year on this date, the water intake at Buffalo was 69 deg. Yesterday it was 74. Probably the warmest on record. Edited September 22, 2016 by Pequod1
jimski2 Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 Ferry street dock had no minnows this morning but a few large ones were taken 3:00 to 4:00 AM. Small perch were being taken off the slip railing by a few anglers. They were using minnows taken at night. That was the only action I found.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Pequod1 Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 It was a nice day yesterday and I am sure a few people tried for perch. Any reports before I make the long trip tomorrow? Still no Niagaras at Big Catch tackle as of yesterday and none in the river except for a few at night.
jimski2 Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 We stopped manyTimes yesterday looking for perch and trolled for four hours out deep. Never did we see any small hooks on the screen. Even in close to shore did we see anything on the screen indicating to what I think could be perch. Usually we would expect them to be close to the walleye schools but nothing happened out deep. I am taking some Goldie's and frozen salted emeralds out today but have no prospects expected. The narrow gap off Sturgeon Point to Canada may work.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Pequod1 Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Thanks. I guess I will hit one of the finger lakes. A lot easier and a whole lot closer.
jimski2 Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Burned up 12 gallons of gas on today's perch search. Found four small bottom hooks in sixty foot plus water. One boat had two small perch in sixty one foot of water. I guess the fall migration of perch is not happening yet.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
mostlymuskies Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 No bait fish--no perch, need water temps below 60 degrees near bottomSent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
jimski2 Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Yes, the thermocline yesterday was at 59 foot.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
jimski2 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Another day, no perch, in the boat or the screen. Ohio boys are doing well but not the eastern basin yet.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
RD9 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Yesterday went trolling for walleye out of Dunkirk to west. Got three eyes 75 ft give or take a few. All marks on bottom. Lots of marks. Took kids out thinking perch were there and they were. 72 ft off canadaway. Marked perch schools a few miles long. Didn't kill em but with salted shiners did ok. They are big ones to. If you want some perch they are deep. Caught most a foot off bottom. Good luck can't miss em just don't think most have went that deep. Hoping to see boats on em and then I can just look for birds. gametime Posted October 27, 2016 Report Posted October 27, 2016 I made it out of Dunkirk yesterday, not much to report. It was mostly a boat ride that cured my cabin fever. Big bait balls between 30-45', water temp was 59 off of canadaway creek and 54 in the Dunkirk harbor. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Starcraft 75 Posted October 27, 2016 Report Posted October 27, 2016 Went out of the Catt yesterday, Hanover still has ramps in, marked and sat on fish out in 76fow and only managed to catch couple dozen and a nice 5# walleye. They just weren't biting. North wind probably didn't help, but gonna try again next week weather permitting. Join Southtowns Walleye Assoc., great club and fishing tournament. 1
mikey eyes Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 Went out of Sturgeon wednesday. 16 perch in 70 fow west. Very few perch marks. Didn't mark any bait. 1
gametime Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 Was out of of Dunkirk again yesterday I was in as shallow as 20' and out as deep as 60' we marked a lot of bait all the way in between. Seemed to pitter out the deeper we went. Water temps 57 outside of harbor Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Starcraft 75 Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 Went out Wednesday out of Hanover, after checking our old waypoints in 76ft sat for awhile and caught acouple, decided to go deeper. Ended up in 82ft probably 4 miles west of Catt. Marked fish and a lot of bait. Only small pods of fish, but we managed to catch a couple dozen, and they were just loaded with minnows and seafleas. Probably why they weren't biting that good. Anyone know if there are any fish near Bflo?

mikey eyes Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 Foot of ferry was loaded with minnows today. Did any one get out of Sturgeon last couple of days?
Starcraft 75 Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 Went out Tuesday and only caught 36 fish moving around a lot in 65 to 68 fow. Marked a ton of bait the screen was full a lot.......went a little west. Coming back in the boats were sitting on the dropoff in 50 fow a little west of Sturgeon and I heard they did well on big fish. Be there in morning....... 3
J. Sparrow Posted November 18, 2016 Report Posted November 18, 2016 Starcraft...... How was Thursday morning?
