mike m. Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Looking for simple way to get my various lead cores to go alittle deeper. Currently use various lead wieghts hung by a cinged rubber band. Hang the weight on the power pro backer right before knot tieing to leadcore. Anyhow this works OK but was thinking about trying dive bombs as way to do same thing. I'm told a dive bomb can be put directly on core if want to. Supposedly will not damage core. Anyhow, any one have experience or opinions on dive bombs? There kinda pricey. Are they effective and worth it???
J. Sparrow Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 I've used them with success when adding to lead core...... I don't know that they're any more effective than other lead weights, but they are easy to put on/take off the line.
mike m. Posted August 25, 2016 Author Report Posted August 25, 2016 Did you put them directlly on the leadcore or on the backer?
J. Sparrow Posted August 26, 2016 Report Posted August 26, 2016 I always put them on the backing.......
mike m. Posted August 26, 2016 Author Report Posted August 26, 2016 I've been told you can put them on the core or the backing. Won't harm the core. Talked to a guy that puts divebombs at midway point of his core with good results. I figure its all about repeatablity with no tangles once you start hitting fish.
