Stillwater Posted June 16, 2022 Report Posted June 16, 2022 Starting a thread for this season. Good luck to all.
J. Sparrow Posted June 21, 2022 Report Posted June 21, 2022 fished out of the Catt yesterday and could only manage 2 eyes. trolled 2 5 color cores and 4 diver rods with a variety of sticks, spoons, and worm burners............ nice day to be out........ gas prices suck.
Stillwater Posted June 21, 2022 Author Report Posted June 21, 2022 Thanks for sharing. Did you mark many and they just weren't feeding?
tds840 Posted June 21, 2022 Report Posted June 21, 2022 Fished a few hours Monday morning out of the Catt also and managed 3 nice walleyes. We were in 50-60 fow and caught one on a stick-bait, out 8 colors, and the other two came on a worm harness, off a downrigger, down 45'. Caught a few sheepshead, white bass, and two small perch. Marked a lot of fish both up high and on the bottom but they just wouldn't go. Agree that it was a nice day to be out there ! 1
Dcra Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Haven't seen a lot of reports off the Catt, so thought I'd add one. We fished from 65' to 85 fow from Center Rd. to east of Evangola State Park. Not a lot of marks. Ended up with 3 walleye (19, 21, & 26) & a silver bass. 2 were caught on riggers 5-7' off the bottom around 70 fow on purple/silver harnesses. One was caught on a water melon harness off a dipsy at 110' on a 2 setting. It was a nice day on the water. I hope the schools keep moving east. 3
Fishy7816 Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Fished out of catt towards sturgeon in 60-67 got 12 lost 3 off the back. Hit on every lead and dipsy we had. Nice day Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United 3
backinthegame Posted August 11, 2022 Report Posted August 11, 2022 Solo limit out of the Catt. tonight. Fished 530-8. 4 on worm burners, 2 on sticks. Ended with a double header. First time fishing alone. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Set up in 90fow, ended in 84fow. Lots o fish out there, go get ‘em. 3
Stillwater Posted August 11, 2022 Author Report Posted August 11, 2022 Awesome job. Great pictures. How many lines did you run by yourself?
backinthegame Posted August 11, 2022 Report Posted August 11, 2022 1 10-color, 1 dipsey, and 1 rigger to start. Ended with two dipseys and a rigger. Dipseys at 170’ back on a 3 setting with worm burners were the best setup tonight.
Stillwater Posted August 11, 2022 Author Report Posted August 11, 2022 Thanks. Very good. I had been running 2 dipsies and that keeps me busy enough. Just got 2 10 color lead setups ready to go. I think they will be easier to run than the dipsies. My boat is a little squirrely to steer with 2 drift socks to keep speed down in the walleye zone. 1
RandyD Posted August 14, 2022 Report Posted August 14, 2022 Lots of fish out there. Caught 4 man limit Saturday and 3 man limit Sunday. Same program as before 4 dipsy’s. Best color was a copper and watermelon. 3 setting 215’ back. Fish didn’t seem to really turn on until after 8:30. After that it was fast and furious 2
mike m. Posted August 16, 2022 Report Posted August 16, 2022 We fished Sunday NW of Catt 80-85 fow right next to the border. Had our 3 man limit by noon. Released 2 more on the break down. Ran 4 diver rods. The #3 setting out 200 to 210 on high divers. The #1 setting out 160-170 on the low divers. On church boards we ran two 10 colors on one side . Other side we ran two 300 weighted steel rods. All rods had stick baits. Best colors were Bomber long A in Northern Lights and Blind Ambition. Can't believe it but caught no sheephead, no white bass. Only Walleye ! Finally got a good weather day !!! 4
Stillwater Posted August 16, 2022 Author Report Posted August 16, 2022 Congratulations on a great day!
Stillwater Posted August 25, 2022 Author Report Posted August 25, 2022 Fished yesterday afternoon and evening. Towed a guy in who was stranded out in 70 fow which delayed our fishing for about 3 hours. Bite had slowed by the time we got started. Ended up with 4 walleye and 5 nice perch. Nice afternoon regardless.
backinthegame Posted August 25, 2022 Report Posted August 25, 2022 Took two first timers out with me this morning. Got set up a little before 7am closer to Dunkirk in 80fow. Worked 80-90fow and had 10 in the boat pretty quick. An inexperienced fisherman turned right across the back of us and hooked one of our 10 color leadcores on a planer board. The whole fiasco cost us some time and we ended up getting off of the fish. We didn’t lose any of our gear so hopefully they learned a lesson. Once we got back on them, it was game on. We ended the day with a double header. Had our 3 man limit by noon, two throwbacks and some bonus perch. Hooked a few monster sheepshead unfortunately. Deep rigger with a “Grape Ape” worm burner was by far our best setup. Introducing two good friends to Lake Erie walleye fishing was a great pleasure today. 3 1
Dcra Posted August 26, 2022 Report Posted August 26, 2022 Nice job backinthegame! Where can I buy that grape ape harness?
backinthegame Posted August 26, 2022 Report Posted August 26, 2022 Thanks! That particular pattern is sold out at FishUSA currently. Nick’s Sporting Goods on Kenmore Ave. might have them though so just give Roy a call. If not try Dick’s Sporting Goods. Good luck!

joe lagreca Posted August 28, 2022 Report Posted August 28, 2022 Beautiful day out there we fished from 75 to 85 and found our best luck earlier in the morning on small spoons and then at the end of the morning on slightly larger spoons nk28s green frog with glow backSent from my SM-G960U using Lake Erie United Mobile App 2
backinthegame Posted August 28, 2022 Report Posted August 28, 2022 Fished 80-90fow today, found pockets of very cold water (47-60*) 60’ down and lower, right where we have been doing well lately. Had 75* down 75’ in this area Thursday. We did our best to pivot and make the best of it with some different tactics. The bite really slowed up for us after 8am and we really had to work for the last few fish of our limit. “Northern Lights” Bomber Long A on 10-color leadcore saved the day for us. 1
yellowpike1 Posted August 28, 2022 Report Posted August 28, 2022 the warm water is east of the Catt sat pics then sun 2
