Re-KLEIN-eR Posted June 17, 2016 Report Posted June 17, 2016 Hello All I just got a airbrush from a fellow LEU guy and I am wondering if anybody can suggest paint that has worked well for them. Mostly painting harness blades and stick baits.
Flybuster Posted June 17, 2016 Report Posted June 17, 2016 Testors is cheap and you have to thin it down stinks like hell if using indoors but colors are readily avaliable. I switched to com-art or auto air there water based acrylics ready to shoot without thinning and clean up easy they also have translucent colors that are nice for layering/blending on sticks. The only box store local that carries them is hobby lobby tho Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Re-KLEIN-eR Posted June 21, 2016 Author Report Posted June 21, 2016 does the com-art and auto air hold up as well being water based? we have a hobby lobby around. I'll have to take a ride over there thanks for the info.
Flybuster Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 For cranks/sticks the preferred clear coat is Devcon 2 ton epoxy and that stuff is not coming off ever! For blades I use this its a solvent based clear that's compatible with the water based http://www.shopwurthusa.com/wurthstorefront/Chemical-Product/Paints/Lacquers/Spray-Clear-Coat-12-Fl-Oz/p/18930191 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
