[email protected] Posted July 1, 2020 Report Posted July 1, 2020 Has anyone tried blood worms for walleye fishing just curious. I know night crawls and trolling is the best. Getting ready to go walleye fishing July 10-13 I moseley fish around Niagara Reef 10mi. off Catawba point. Launching boat from Lorain Ohio. But I have never finished this part of Eaire. Going straight out to about 50-55 ft. of water I know that Walleye like deeper water in the hotter months. Or does anyone has a better suggestion to go. Stillwater Posted July 8, 2020 Report Posted July 8, 2020 Might work but night crawlers are easier to get and keep, less expensive and they work. I have fished with blood worms for stripers on the hudson but have no desire to try them for walleye. If you have them already why not try them and report back.
sherman brown Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 where do you get blood worms? don't they cost a lot more than nightcrawlers?
Stillwater Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 They are sold in many bait shops along the east coast and Hudson River during the stripped bass season. Pretty expensive compared to crawlers and messy when you put them on the hook. I think that is where the name comes from.
