Fyshon Posted May 5, 2020 Report Posted May 5, 2020 Hey everybody, not sure if I am in the right place for this question. I do a ton of trolling in Erie and Ontario with great luck on both. My question is that somedays I don't want to find the wind and waves out on Erie trolling and I would love to just drift and jig for some Walleyes... any info on tips, tactics and location out of Buffalo ? Canuknucklehead Posted July 8, 2020 Report Posted July 8, 2020 (edited) I used to do a lot of jigging. I prefer using Gulp Alive minnows because they don't get caught up in the weeds like twister tails do. I would go out in the evening or early morning on the lee side of a breakwater. Slowly lower your jig into the holes in the weed bed until you reach bottom. Then raise it a few inches and move it slowly up and down. If there is a walleye or bass in the vicinity, they will hit the jig immediately. Then move to the next hole, there is no need to stay in a hole in the weed bed more than fifteen seconds. Canuknucklehead Posted July 9, 2020 Report Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) You are welcome, braided line is best for jigging. Edited July 9, 2020 by Canuknucklehead Typo 1
