Stillwater Posted July 10, 2020 Report Posted July 10, 2020 Looks like some unsettled weather coming thru the weekend. Hopefully when it settles early next week the fish will be ready and willing to bite. Keep trying Milt. My last time out was not a good day as well. No walleye. I know they will be congregating and turn on soon. I like hand drifting harnesses with bottom bouncers when the wind is around 10 to 15 mph. That gives me about 1 to 1.2 mph. If trolling sticks and spoons you probably want to be at 1.8 to 2.2 mph? It is fun to change things up until you find the sweet spot for them. Good luck.

zadvorney Posted July 11, 2020 Report Posted July 11, 2020 Was out in 54' today. 80 degrees on top. Pulled my harness up to check it and the worm was really warm. Lots of marks but no takers.
Stillwater Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 I wonder what the oxygen levels are in the water column when it gets this warm? Maybe something is changing with that.Sent from my SM-G975U using Lake Erie United Mobile App
zadvorney Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 Lots of algae in the water as well. I think I'll put the local eyes away for a while. I hear there are other kinds of fish in the lake. Lol.

Stillwater Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 This was supposed to be a banner season. Still early but almost mid July.
Fyshon Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 I know, I heard about the huge population, plus the warm spring. I was really looking forward to the season and then everyone went haywire..Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Erie United Mobile App

jimski2 Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 Water temperatures are important. But currents above the river are yielding walleyes after dark now. The sunshine drives the fish deeper.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United 1
