(STWA) (www.southtownswalleye.org) held its milestone 35th Annual Walleye Derby from June 8th through June 16th 2019, on the waters of Lake Erie and the Upper Niagara River. With over $100,000 in cash and prizes at stake, over 905 anglers gathered from as far away as the states of Florida and Washington to take part in this nine day event to claim the top prize for the heaviest walleye caught. This annual contest is the largest amateur fishing derby on Lake Erie and begins the big summer event season for all anglers on the waterways. The Derby concluded with an awards ceremony that was held at the STWA Clubhouse on June 29th at 4pm with more than 250 people in attendance, prizes were awarded to the top 200 fish that were weighed in for this big fishing event. Top ten honors for the winners went to the adult and youth participants within each division as follows: Adult Winners 2019: 1st - Randy Jaroszewski – 12.39 lbs. 2nd - Dave Malloy – 11.77 lbs. 3rd - Mike Russell – 11.73 lbs. 4th - Justin Wekenmann – 11.59 lbs. 5th – Robert Nori – 11.51 lbs. 6th - Kyle Kokanovich – 11.40 lbs. 7th - David Kiernan – 11.31 lbs. 8th - Chris Gatehouse – 11.24 lbs. 9th - Richard Powenski – 11.20 lbs. 10th - Thomas Biskup – 11.13 lbs. Youth Winners 2019: 1st - Peyton Fletcher – 10.21 lbs.2nd - Garrett Shcmitt – 9.40 lbs.3rd - Sienna Jaroszewski – 9.04 lbs.4th - Sean Kacmarski – 7.94 lbs.5th - Ryan Ward – 7.81 lbs.6th - Kadence Phillips – 7.73 lbs.7th - Daniel Fried – 7.35 lbs.8th - Raf Greene – 7.29 lbs.9th - Timothy Hughes – 7.08 lbs.10th - Kaiden Dissette - 6.86 lbs.
