STWA Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 The U.S. House is about to get back to work on the SHARE Act ‒ better known as the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2015. Yes, you read that correctly. It’s 2016 and the House is still debating a common sense act from last year. Look at all the benefits for fishermen in this bill: It protects traditional fishing equipment containing lead from unwarranted federal bans. It will create more and better fishing by requiring federal land managers to support and facilitate access for fishing on Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management lands. It prevents unnecessary closures of public water to fishing by implementing an “open until closed” management policy. It blocks the National Park Service from arbitrarily closing water to fishing without state approval like they did at Biscayne National Park. Tell Congress to stop dragging their feet and pass the SHARE ACT. Let’s get this done. View the full article on STWA website
