Bottom bouncer ?

For the guys using bottom bouncers, how far back do you run the harness? I have 6-8 ft leaders for the dipsey, would these work?

I use a 6 ft. leader and have caught fish

my sons use 3-5 ft. leaders and catch a lot of walleyes but work the bouncers at different depths.

I tie up harnesses with 40 inch leaders for bottom bouncing they work good and have your main line at a 45 degree angle with the water when bouncing
