Levelwind Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 Fished 7:30 to 11:00 in 10 to 18 fow. Went 5 for 7 but no steelhead. An odd mix of fish. 2 SMB. 1 LMB. 1 musky and big fish was a 9 lb brown. Levelwind 1
pap Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 That's a good start, if the smallies are starting and the Browns, the eyes aren't far behind. At least you got in the water. Tight lines to you and others. Thanks for the post!!
problem child Posted April 19, 2016 Report Posted April 19, 2016 Seems like a lot of muskies this year. The espa trout challenge had at least 3 caught that I know of.
Levelwind Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 Thanks. All fished released. Here is a pic of the Brown. I just held it for pic. It was reeled in by my 12 yr old nephew. The same one who shot an 8 pt the first day of gun at noon which I missed twice during bow.
pap Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) That's a healthy looking Muskie, that's well on its way. Maybe that some fish will be of trophy size in a few years!! Thanks for posting the pic!! Pap Oh is that a tiger? I really don't know what they look like it appears to have dots in a row not the stripes like a mature fish? And a damn nice brown also. Congrats to your day!!! Edited April 21, 2016 by pap
Levelwind Posted April 22, 2016 Author Report Posted April 22, 2016 It is a spotted musky. I googled it because of the strange pattern and I wasn't sure. They are common and reproduce naturally unlike tiger muskys which are hybrids.

If natural reproduction is happening that's fantastic!!! tHanks for the pics there Levelwind? I hope this weekend is the official start to the 2016 year!!!
Levelwind Posted April 23, 2016 Author Report Posted April 23, 2016 They get as big and PIB is a good spot for a chance at a 50"+ musky. Here is a pic of the lure it hit . Bagley Mighty Minnow. Too bad they are $25 apiece on eBay. I'm not collecting them. I'm fishing them.
J. Sparrow Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 Back in the day...... I know I had some mighty minnows in my tackle box. Don't know where they might be now......
