Thank you very much to Blood Run Tackle for their generous donation to LEU. I just completed my order of some terminal tackle and am looking forward to updating my lures. Again, thank you. Joel

I watch all of Thundermist's videos. I didn't realize they made the stingnose. I'll have to pick some up. Is that a plated steel or a cast lead body? I do like certain lures! and I use them to a fault. When I know the fish are biting on one thing I always go back to the lures I like. That's probably why I don't catch as much. LOL.

went out tonight with the intent of getting some perch. They are there. I launched at the Catt. and went out to 60 FOW. Schools everywhere. Some would bite, some not. All I had were salted emeralds. Used Swedish pimples. They were spitting up scuds. Caught ten and went out further. Lots of big marks in 70+ FOW. Caught two eyes drifting a spinner with a worm attached. A good day for me. Lots of full coolers at the launch. Go Get Them!

cool info guys. Thanks

I like that spot. I watched two boats fill their coolers while I squeezed out two. Lol. So many fish to catch within five minutes of launching at the small boat harbor. I know there are plenty of great fishing spots all over the lake but I'd like to concentrate on just the river mouth this year. If I can catch an eye or three I'm happy. Everything else is a bonus.

The last time I had house flies bite me like that I was in some crap hole in Saudi. I hate with un-dieing passion those flies. I swear we brought them back in the 90's and here they are. Every time the wind dies out on the lake they show up. They puke up on you and it stings right through my jeans! YUCK! BLAAAK! WILLIES

Look forward to trying that. I used to use red head jigs with black and white hair with good success in the Susquehanna as a kid. If I can find some I'll dig them out and try that as well. I know trolling is an effective means to fill coolers but it can get boring. I like the turn and burn method punctuated by a vicious strike.

Hit the mouth of the upper river last night. Trolled deep dive plugs. One bass. Fed up with my results I went Ice Fishing Style on them. Tipped a jigging rapala with a worm. Drifted until I saw good marks and dropped it on their heads. Bam! a nice eye on the first drop. Next two drops were sheepheads. Lots of fun. The bite stopped after dark and I didn't feel like trolling the walls so in I went. Great night to be out.

Panfish No panfish threads yet...

I bet the emerald shiner out fishes any other shiner 10-1. I hear some guys are really lucky with micro soft plastics. The incessant nipping is the gobies. I have an under water camera and see literally millions of them down there. The bass, perch and walleye eat them like candy. Good luck -

It didn't dawn on me why no real reports this last week. The Southtowns walleye tourny is starting Saturday. Good luck guys, your money is safe from me. I'm not in it but I wish I was. Lots of great prizes and good causes to benifit. Good luck to all and have a safe time. Post up if you win something, It would be cool to see. On the other hand, I do know where to find the winning fish....yessss....(pinky finger in corner of mouth).

Update: I still don't like the high cement walkways leading to the docks. I am getting used to it though. Some signs put in like at Sturgeon that tell you to prep your boat "here" before you get on the ramp would be smart. I do like the wash down area where you pull out. A full pressure garden hose to rinse off the fish blood, dirt or algae from your boat and trailer.

Went out Friday night. Pulled sticks and tried a worm harness for a bit. The waves weren't bad behind the outer wall so I concentrated there. One monster eye for the effort. I thought I snagged a rock. Then it started coming to me so I figured a log. I'm just casually horsing the thing in and when I get it near the boat it starts to fight. Lol. A few other guys out trolling the inside walls. The moss was an issue as the waves kicked it up. Check your lures often.

I can't answer that one. There were quite a few boats in their slips though.
