Walleye Fishing shallow night time

Meyers reef, Seneca shoal, smokes creek, Hamburg shoreline in front of hoaks, Dunkirk shoreline and reefs. Pretty much anywhere along the shore or reefs that you can get into that 7-12' range. I have run boards with glow sticks but usually just Rod in hand for me. Bay rat shallows, husky jerks, shadow raps, scatter raps. It's all a guessing game, and a lot of changing of baits, but when you find what they want that night, limits come quick Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App -

Torpedo 19 strand wire with Maxima Chameleon mono leader. Sometimes the leader is 15-20' long and we hand line the fish in but usually we stick to around 12' Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App

Took the family down to the Catt today. They're not early risers and it's an hr and half drive for us so we didn't get lines in until 10:45. I had an 8 rod spread. I ran two riggers, one with spoon and one with harness, 45 and 55 down. Two dipseys 75 and 90 back with harnesses, 2 color with various sticks, 5 color with sticks and later harness, flicker minnow on braid an flicker shad on braid. Took 4 hits until we left at 4. Lost one eye at back of the boat, caught a silver, and missed two on the boards. What a struggle!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App

No snubbers. Just use a mono leader and keep drag just tight enough to so its not creeping out while trolling. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App

I took a couple buddies out this morning since the forecast was calling for one day in between blows. Water was not as cloudy as I expected and waves were a comfortable chop. We set up around 8:00 in front of the windmills. Got into the sheepshead immediately. We must've caught 20-25, with some real hogs, but not what we came out there for. The eyes were scattered. We picked up 6 keepers before packing it in shortly after noon. All fish came on harnesses. Not a great day but my buddies left with smiles and a few meals. Depends how deep you want to target. I always fish the marks and above. We have two 4 oz off the bow and two 2 oz off the stern in that 25-35' range. The 4 oz are right on the bottom and the 2 oz are 5-7' up. I'll change that out to 6 oz and 4 oz when the fish move out to the fence. There was a lot of boats out there and boards made it tough to maneuver and turn on fish so we took them out and stuck with the 4 rods which worked out well Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App

We had to work for them, but we got it done. Two man limit with some nice bass mixed in. All eyes caught on harnesses and bass on sticks. No real pattern to the catches either. Nuclear green Colorado, watermelon willow, and gold gobie hatchet blades all took fish. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App

Nice!!! I'm ready for the day bite. I'm out on Ontario now. Missed one, tripled and landed two, and now just trolling back to port. Pretty slow out here too. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App

Took the wife out last night for her first time. Only fished for a couple hours and I was lucky to get that out of her, (she's usually in bed by 9:00). Silvers are in pretty heavy, not long before the moss shows up I'm thinking. Water was up to 65 degrees. I missed a few and landed 3, and the Mrs got her first walleye ever and a bunch of silvers. I hooked a large silver sideways and thought I had a nice walleye on until it got to the boat. Another fun night on Lake Erie!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App

The fish turned on around 11:30 for me. Had my limit by 1:00 and called it a night. Caught a few silver bass too as water temp is getting up there. Soon the daytime bite will emerge. Great night on the water. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
