Walleye Buffalo Small Boat Harbor- 2018 Reports

It wasn't dark yet. It didn't get dark until we were putting the boats on the trailers at the launch. Thanks to everyone for the comments, I really was not looking for a pat on the back, I just could not believe no one helped them. I myself have been towed in twice over the years & was very grateful for the help. -
Walleye Buffalo Small Boat Harbor- 2018 Reports

Hard To believe! So I get a call from my buddy Saturday evening around 7 pm. He tells me his son & grand daughter are out in front of the wind mills broke down . He thinks engine coupler is gone bad. So he asks me if I could take my boat & go get him of course I said yes. I asked if his son tried calling for help on the radio or waving his red flag which he did but no one offered any help! We get to the SMB & there are people(fishermen) coming in putting their boats on the trailers, Then we get out by the wind mills & there are 8-10 boats fishing right around his son & not 1 person offered any help before we got there! I just find this hard to believe that no one would not take a 1/2 hour out of their fishing to tow this son & grand daughter or anyone that was broken down into the dock when the sun was going down! If I am not mistaken it is a law that you are required to help a boat in distress ! Come on guys get with the program! By the way we all got in safe! Rant over. -
There use to be a red buoy outside the break wall in Dunkirk That everyone would fish perch around It was out about a 1/2 mile in about 35 fow. I know they use to do good there, but you might have to move around a bit. Good luck!

I got a response & they said it needs to be in the budget & voted on. Seeing how they just voted on the budget it would have to be brought up next year.

I Just sent Sen. P. Gallivian e- mail asking him to see if he can look into this & get something going about maybe getting launch ramps at these state parks. I guess we will have to wait & see about a response from him?? Maybe some others here can contact their Reps. about this, who knows maybe we can get the ball rolling!

The launch can be used pretty much any time with boots on, the problem is getting in the boat & out of the harbor opening before it is dredged due to the sand bar across it.

I know 20+ years ago I fished Ohio & even back then any part of the state on the shores on lake Erie was geared to fishing & boating. There are marinas & launch ramps every where. Apparently their boating, fishing & hunting $$$$ go back to the sportsmen & hunters unlike NY. which all leads back to the black holes in Albany & NYC.!

They are normally a week after the walleye opener, why I don't know? It's not like they don't know it's coming!

I just talked to a friend & he said at the state of the lake meeting the other night that they will be dredging & opening SP this year.

With the ramp improvements at the Catt the parking will be even worst I bet.
