  1. FYI, as of 3 pm today there was one dock in at the Catt. ck. state launch site.
  2. All on minnows, I used a perch rig (3 hooks) & my buddy used a small perch colored jigging spoon with a minnow. We didn't catch our 1st fish until 12:30 off evengola wall after we sat in the 2 groups & watched others get them. With all those boats I now remember why retired people fish during the week! lol
  3. We kept 42 jumbos 12-14" in 56 fow off to the west of SP. I couldn't believe the # of cars/boats out today. Did anyone see the boat, trailer, & truck in the water at the launch? Some one had a bad day of fishing! Sure was a beautiful day!
  4. Installed new to me Big Jon rod holders, made up a bunch of worm harnesses, got some new Rapala & other stick bait lures. Made up some new LC lines of different lengths on reels ready to go. I refuse to buy new lures at $8 - $10 a piece So I plan on rotating my 20 year old ones(5 tackle boxes full) back into the game. They worked back then , they got to work now! lol.
  5. He didn't say the depth but he was to the west with the other boats. We usually start about 45-50 fow this time of yr.
  6. Drove to SP sat. pm., the launch docks are in, counted 10-12 boats out to the west. Talked to one guy he said it was slow & cold but they (3 guys) ended up with 55 nice fish. Boats were going in & out of the harbor with no problem, the opening seemed free of sandbar.
  7. Looks like 1/2 the ice boom is out already!
  8. Nice fish, what time we eating?
  9. I have thought about painting my own after we find the hot color for the season. I mean when we hear all the fish are hitting anything with green, or orange etc... Thought I would take some of the old lures I don't use & paint them up the correct color. But then again by the time I buy the air brush & paints plus the time it would be just as cheap to buy the new color lures. Last winter we made up many, many harnesses which we ended up only using half of those, will maybe get to the other half this year.
  10. For colors we do well with chartreuse, firetiger, nuclear green, metallic green, purple, black & purple, nuclear black, these colors work well for harnesses, spoons & stick baits. We also do well with small stinger spoons in copper confusion, copper/orange, some days silver/blue . Our speeds vary depending on water temps. depths, & time of year. This is Jmo. but it works for us. (at times) lol. I'm sure others will chime in here.
  11. Nalod, got some nice looking blades, the walleye ones have to catch eyes right! Good luck
