  1. Yellowpike, that catch pic from this am, Nice size, Nice job! Where did you launch at? Where you out on the lake or inside the gap?
  2. Remember the Blue pike?? Catch your limit But, limit your catch!
  3. Lol, most guys little, 2nd boats are 16-18' not 27' wth!
  4. Thank you X2 !
  5. You can launch at the SBH on the north end by the office building. There is 1 dock in there. Also can go to the Catt. state launch . but they have NO docks in take boots & climb aboard! Dunkirk harbor launch I believe also. Most launches won't be officially open until May 1, or later for some unknown stupid reason!
  6. I saw you speaking on channel 4 news. Good points made, Thanks.
  7. I believe SP usually opens a week or two after the walleye opener, but may be later due to dredging again. I was thinking they always opened around May 15 in years pasted.
  8. Mostlymuskies, it was great to meet you & talk with at the Alex. flea market. Lots of good info. shared, Thanks!
  9. People need to contact their Reps. state & local & let them know we want/need more access points. Higgins, Gallivan, Hoyt, Brown & others. Even early & late in the season to take the barricades down that are across the launches & let people use them (At their own risk) like Erie basin & others. The lakes are a natural thing & people should be allowed to use them whenever they want not just when the people in charge think we should allowed to. Also the fishing clubs should get letter writing campaigns going to the Reps. as a group. South town walleye use too. They boost of 2000 members & their mission is the get more lake access but it's not happening.
  10. H2o, probably too late by now for all the fish most of us have eaten.
  11. That's a hell of a lot of cheeks & fish!
  12. Maybe it's to bad the state doesn't take it over, but then again not so sure that would be a good idea.
  13. You mean the early birds won't need our waders & shovels to get through the gap after the perch, due to the town of Evans being broke? good news!
  14. How bad was the sand bar across the opening to get on the lake?
  15. You really don't need line counters for lead core just go by the # of colors you put on the reel. 30' for every color.
  16. I never tried the wings ,but I will be! There use to be an older black gentleman that would sit in the fish cleaning station at the SBH years ago & he would clean up your mess if you gave him the heads & guts of the walleyes. I asked him what he did with them & he said "you white people throw out the best part of the fish" & he did point out the meat on the wings. He said he made fish stock & gumbo with it. He always took the heads, the wings & the tail parts of the fish. He hasn't been there the last few years that I know of.
  17. Looks like a bit more than "picking away" a little! Is pic from the finger lakes? Nice job!
  18. Don't know how to do the pic thing but mine is a 22' Grady White WA, o/b with 9.9 kicker.
  19. They were coming over the wall big time for sure! Nice little walleye chop! lol
  20. I drove by the small boat harbor today & there are no docks in just the launch. Also FYI the Erie basin will not be open until May & they have it blocked, so no launching there at all.
  21. Are the docks in? Thanks
  22. We fished near Hamburg beach a few years ago & there had to be 200 boats there any thing from a canoe to a 25 footer. It was nuts some had lights, some did not, guys yelling at each other. I have only been out a few times at night after that & if its crowded I stay away from the pack.
  23. If two 36" bags aren't slowing you down try adjusting your idle speed down a bit.
