Wow that is a lot of water covered Fishnut. Thanks for the latest updates guys. Now I have to watch the weather and decide where to go. Options include: Erie, Oneida, or locally on I-Bay or Conesus. The Walleye is a great fish and this has been a fun learning season. One more trip then put away the boat. Grouse and Deer need some attention. Thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge!

Any of you experienced Lake Erie walleye fishermen think there would be enough eyes still worth chasing in the usual 65 to 75 fow range NW of Sturgeon next week. Really would like to have one more go at it depending on the weather. Not sure what the water temps are doing and how much that will change things. Next potential window looks like Wednesday of next week but a lot can change by then. Interested in hearing a few opinions. Thanks.

Thanks Wallychaser... it was special. I could tell it was a good fish right away when she bit my harness. Had my medium/light action spinning rod bent right over and the drag going strong. When she finally came into view and I could see it was a walleye it really got exciting. She came off in the net! I have been dreaming about getting a solid walleye out of Erie and it finally came true!

Fished with a friend NW of sturgeon point yesterday afternoon and evening. Started out drifting in 75 fow with harnesses. Caught a personal best walleye (29 incher, 7.8 lbs). Lake went flat so we finished with Dipsy divers. Ended with 8 keepers. Beautiful sunset. Great to be out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Erie United Mobile App

Hi Headshaker, we're you using size 1 dipsys? What color are your dipsys? Thanks. We caught our first Dipsy eyes yesterday west of sturgeon pt. 75 fow. Used size 1 painted black. 210 back on 3 setting. Purple with green dot harness blades. 2 mph SOG. Rookie on dipsys so interested in learning more. Thanks. Great pic of that nice eye! Ours were just 16 inchers. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Erie United Mobile App

The walleye bite can shut down or turn on for many different reasons. I have seen a minor wind shift have an immediate negative impact. Maybe like someone taking a nice warm shower and then it goes cold all of a sudden... that can change a person's mood real fast until it warms up again. Same for fish probably, until they reaclimate they may not feel like eating. And then there is barometric pressure. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Erie United Mobile App

Fished from 3 to 9 pm yesterday. Started drifting in 72 feet west of SP. Got several nice perch. Moved back towards SP around 7 and found some marks. Caught 1 short eye, lost better one, lost rod & reel to good fish, got a few more perch and 4 sheeps. Not the results I was looking for but it was a nice evening on the water. A bit calm. Maybe try hanging some sticky fly catching tape strips in your boat? I bring a fly swatter. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Erie United Mobile App

They may not have been spinning at the ideal speed yesterday but I have had success with the same bouncer & harness in even less wind a few times in the past. I will give the rod a jigging pump every so often to change the speed, sometimes this can trigger a bite. It doesn't take very much to make them spin.
