    What do you perch whores say about perchn during an easterly wind on Erie? Everyone says the walleye bite sucks w an easterly wind. Wanna fish this weekend, but hear it may be easterly. Wanted to walleye fish, but wouldnt object to perchn. Have a long drive to get there.     GarryNY...did you keep any lures/baits in that 20 foot from surface depth? I know it may be hard to when all the reports are 50 to 80 ft down.     Thanks Pequod, you live fairly close to Cayuga? She Def has some nice perch. I live closer to Canandaigua and have dialed in the fall bite nicely also pulling the bigger guys outta 50 to 60 fow late summer-early fall.     We stunk it up today outta Dunkirk..never boated a decent keeper..only small eyes, a few perch and a few trash fish...what a downer..kinda bumpy in the am...maybe we didn't fish deep enough..pretty sad report, I know.     Seems like Fall provides many favorable techniques to catch perch..they are more aggressive as they are putting on the feedbag...almost all live bait options work, many plastics are hot as well as trolling techniques w small crankbaits etc Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Erie United Mobile App

    I recently bought some flatfish to try on Erie...of course they aren't the original wooden guys, but would have the same action...they haven't been for a swim yet..have only made it over there a couple times...maybe this sunday...Old School!!!     Last summer while fishing out of SP we had a young DEC employee requesting to take measurements & scale samples from our catch..we agreed and while doing so, I asked if he had any knowledge of the ongoing walleye movement tracking study...he laughed and said he was very involved with it. Of course I asked if he could share any details..he laughed again and said "well...we had 1 walleye that traveled from near Buffalo across the whole lake to the western basin in 24 hours"...fish confirmed to be live....
