  1. I agree with what Jimski said as well. I only keep what I can use or give away. If I came home with 50 perch that would be over a year or two's worth for my wife and I. The most I kept last year was 24, we ran out of minnows and I thought I had a friend to come help clean. Recreational fishing does have an impact on fisheries but often politics has more. Like others have said walleye is god and perch are second. I probably would fish perch more but don't want to keep as many and releasing them from 60 ft of water is often not possible. Back to fishing though does anyone know if the docks are in at the cat yet? Or is there a dock at the marina there and how much do they charge to launch?

  4. to Chad. Now if we could only get the weather to go as well as this site that would be great.
  5. Older Minn Kota powerdrive Older Minn Kota powerdrive 50 lb thrust, 54" shaft. Works fine just missing the trim pieces and not ipilot adaptable as it is old. Looking for $50 or if interested make an offer. Working on cleaning out the garage.
  6. I do the same. I just upgraded to a terrova but had an older powerdrive with autopilot you pushed a button on the base for autopilot then could adjust with the foot pedal and would stay on the same line as corrected. I will have to figure out the terrova with the ipilot. The set up works great for fishing alone or with newbys as you can worry about setting lines without getting blown around and having to always correct steering. I know people will move with the trolling motor still deployed but at low speed but I don't take the chance.

  10. YP, Thanks, nice job.
  11. Yellow, Where did you launch and how was the launch? Icy? Thanks
  12. Small boat harbor's old launches are not too steep, I'm not sure how the new launches are at small boat harbor and erie basin's are a little steeper. King, if you do upgrade your bow mount let me know I am looking for a terrova to upgrade my powerdrive. Saw the one on Lou but it was a 54" and thinking I should get a 60".
  13. There is also Erie Basin Marina to the north. Figures I have time this week and the weather is looking crappy for the weekend and next week otherwise I would be getting the boat wet.
  14. I drove by yesterday, seems to be moving along. Looks to me like you would come from Fuhrman Rd head right to the lake then make a hard left, then back in to the launch. Seen other places have a similar set up. Hopefully it will be better than Dunkirk as some of those launches are kind of a pain to back into with traffic/people stopping to load boats.
  15. What's the name of the place? I almost grabbed some chinooks at the niagara show but wasn't sure about them.
  16. Right there with you. Last few weekends have been windy and flat calm during the week. Too much going on at work or I would skip out to fish.
  17. I was out of Dunkirk this am also, got one eye 18" nice eater. 75 ft on orange jointed rapala. Almost didn't go as bouy report said 1.3 and when I got it was 2-3 with 4 ft rollers easy, maybe 5s. Sent from my XT907 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  18. Thanks to Larry, all who post info on here and other sites. I think I can speak for most people here that we're not looking for exact coordinates but a starting point as many of us cannot get out as much as we want. The lake is huge and any general info to get us started after a week off helps a ton. I know I have gained a wealth of knowledge from here. Looks like Saturday should be a nice day to be out so good luck to all.
  19. x2 what mostlymuskies said. I usually try for 1.8-2.2 range for everything/mixed harnesses and lures.
  20. Went out of Dunkirk Sunday morning, still a little bumpy but not too bad. Headed west, started out deeper than I wanted, seemed like everytime I turned to head in there was a boat on the same line. Got a few white bass on harnesses, then hit a double header in 55 ft water. One (6 lb) was on a orange tape with copper hatchet (5 color LC) and the other (9lb) was on a black with some chartruse, orange and white dot harness off the downrigger at 52 ft. Went back through a few more times with no results. Was marking most in 45-60 ft water. I've been switching things up and trying just about every color and lure I have. Also been changing the depths. Sunday I had 2 DRs 10-20 ft apart in the water column, 4 color, 5 color, and a dipsy that I was all over on the line out. The 2 fish I got were 20 ft apart in the water column but couldn't get any more from that spot.
  21. Guy in hamburg had some with the leadcore, 47lc reels and rods on craigslist a little bit ago that I was thinking about. They were still there a few days ago, might want to check that out. They looked in nice shape.
  22. Was out of Dunkirk, lots of boats and lots of white bass. Dropped a rod and reel overboard. shimano rod with diawa reel, I can described it if someone catches it but betting it's a lost cause. Between losing tackle and this rod it's getting expensive this year for 2 walleye. Sent from my XT907 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
