FISCH....... I've run wire divers for walleyes with success..... and I don't run inlines, but do run big boards along-side wire divers without much problem........ and yes, run your dipseys on the inside of the board lines......

Walleye NE marina fishing report 6-8-16

I'm sure others will chime in....... The Mountain is a feature in Lake Erie off the Pa / NY shoreline which is shallower than the surrounding water. Like a mountain sticking up off the bottom. It roughly parallels the shoreline and is several (2 to 3? I'm guessing) miles offshore. It's good deepwater structure, and holds good numbers of Lakers....... It's more like a ridge than a mountain, if I remember it right......

I agree with RD9..... if you want to quickly learn the ropes, hire a charter and be specific about what you want to learn when you talk with him.... bottom bouncing, or trolling or night fishing....... but that is absolutely the fastest way to learn the fishery. Otherwise you'll be experimenting until you find something that works, which can take time. The other thing you could do is join a fishing club like the Southtowns Walleye Assn..... -
King Slam...... can you share a little about how to use the kicker with an I-pilot electric? What speed setting do you run the electric at?

I'm thinking ....... steelhead, but I gotta admit it could be a dead gobbler........

				Perch Catt Perch Slow Today
J. Sparrow replied to mostlymuskies's topic in Lake Erie Fishing Reports
That's interesting Smeltz....... you think it's related to water clarity? or forage? One thing that we've seen is that with increased clarity the perch fishing on the fingerlakes has changed...... spookier fish. I think that the Erie perch fishermen believe that 45 - 60 fow insulates them from the fish, but maybe that's not the case anymore. Maybe a guy roaring to within 40 yards of the pack scatters / spooks fish and there's a need for more stealth fishing. -
Sorry to hear about your mom BOE. On Sunday, Think some kind thoughts of her, and remember some good times, and I hope your launch concerns are unfounded. I shot a 2 YO bird this morning....... but love "guiding" for my kids. Sunday, I got the OK to fish from my wife...... at least in the morning.... Saturday, I'm hoping my youngest daughter is looking down the rib at the bird I was really chasing this morning.

Sunday Morning can be a very dangerous day to fish..... Hazardous to your health...... Devastating to all future outings....... It's Mother's Day! You better not be fishing or turkey hunting...... Follow the step by step..... nowhere do you see fishing (walleye / perch / any other species) or turkey hunting in the list of what to do things..... http://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/us/mothers-day

We fished Sunday out of Sturgeon Point and once again struggled..... I think we wound up with a few more than 20. What we did observe were boats hopping around the pack to stay on the school of fish. I'm learning a little more about what to look for on my electronics and also hunt them down before fishing for them.... We also got to witness some good entertainment when somebody in an "anchored" boat set up very close to two "I-pilot" boats. The discussion that followed mentioned peoples mothers, body parts, recommendations for lunch, and the quality/condition of one of the participants fishing gear....... no shots fired.
