The walleye guys on another site I belong to, it covers western, middle, Port Clinton area, and the eastern basin, the western basin guys always have the most chat going on, hell those guys will invite you to go along with them, even tow your boat out for ya if that's what it takes. We stayed in Oak Orchard at a place called LamberJacks. A stone throw across the Turtle Creek is another marinia called naturally Turtle Creek marina, which a lot off charters go out of. But there is a huge marinia down from there called Wild Wings, that place is huge and a lot of charters go out of that area. What I found amazing was the amount of info those guys are willing to share, the charter guys will help those to the bitter end that are on his boat, but they call each other by cell phones, to find the big pods of fish, but the other guys will share info over the radio. Hopefully this site will open the door to this same train of thoughts. There's enough fish in LakeO to satisfy all the anglers, maybe it will put enough pressure on the sight of walleye fishing that they will start a stocking program for LakeO that's a lot bigger than what's going on now. But that is a long shot IMO. But its worth a shot!!!!! -
Welcome aboard DJ, yea the eye guys will be able to unleash on here, at least the Erie guys will. How'd your winter go? I'm ready to troll man enough already!!! PAP.

I don't think you will be disappointed. I have the Elite 7HDI I have no regrets, for the first year you will receive free upgrades on the chip, take advantage of that after 1 year it will cost $90.00. I don't really know what the difference is between the platinum & premium other than the 3D, I like the 1ft intervals also which is spot on most of the time. Last year NY snow maker didn't do much as the lakes froze over earlier than normal, so the lake was 3 to 5ft low that's where the charts were off a little. This year so far I heard they were low, but with the warmer weather I hope here to stay will start to melt off in the northern areas. Good luck with your new chip.
-
I will say that was only 1 time the other lakes were spot on, and for the most LakeO was in a foot or less, and in the trench and around the islands it was right on. I'm more than pleased with the navionics. Can't you run the platinum chip in your hds unit?

Will do my brother in law has a female black lab, when our dog Cookie, the girls named him and Lexie, get together it's all play time, Lexie gets so mad cause she can't catch Cookie as he is lightning fast, most times Cookie gets the best of Lexie but not always. I'll ask my brother in law he might know someone with pups. You want papers with the dog, I know that was important to him, also with me. Hopefully something turns up soon for you. Pap.

Good deal Shinintimes, I didn't know what they were, so I looked them up, appears they are the top of the line for the double board manufactured type. I know the homemade double boards do take up a lot of room, but they are the hardest pulling boards I ever owned, actually they pull a little to hard, you definitely need the top of the line tow line. I ended up using Blood Runs top quality line, I can't remember what it was. It was recommended on LOU's site. Best of luck with them!!! -

What chip is in the unit now? I have the navionics hot spots premium depending on the lake situations, they can be 5 to 10 ft off the most mine was off last year was 7ft. I don't know how much difference your talking about, you can also update your chip depending on the make.

Yea Zigster, sometimes I wonder about that spell check.

From this site and LOU I found a fellow that lives somewhat close by that fishes a lake called Lake Wallenpawpack. Shinintimes we have never met before but he informed me he was going up to NY. to go ice fishing out of Chaumont Bay. I can't remember if he invited me to go along or what but he mentioned that they did well and he offered me some of his fillets of perch, of course I jumped on that offer with two feet. We made arrangements to meet on a exit ramp on his way home and he would share his fish with me. I did not expect the amount he offered and they all were cleaned to perfection not a one bone, too bad we didn't get to talk more as it was a Friday afternoon and he had to get his guys home. This is the end result of his thoughtfulness!!!!

Welcome zigster, which lake do you fish more? I fish 99.9% LakeO but have fished Erie with absolutely no regrets, every trip was good for eyes. Walleyes are my main goals, but this year I want to try the trout species, see if I can drag myself away from the little spoons and pull some larger mag. size spoons. Tight lines as we kick of the 2016 season!!! PAP

Man that gets old quick bud, used to do that in my younger days. I'm really interested in those cabins, see what happens till the 2nd week in June. Sounds like this site has turned a lot guys on to the eastern end of Erie!!! I can't wait till guys start posting pics. Of nice sized eyes. Till next time stay safe and tight lines to the guys that get outIII PAP

RD9 I don't want to sound like a smart ass, but why is it difficult? Do you get snagged often, if it's so productive why don't other's adapt. I troll at night from the end of the Black River out to the last set of bouys and back, I don't run near the amount of rods 4 at the most. Thanks for sharing? PAP
-
That's a good start it can only get better, here's to a start to the season Thanks for sharing,,
-
Thanks Steelie, that's a big help!! We could easily stay a week in those cabins. I can't wait to show the guys what I found. I'm going to tell them this is where I'm staying while you guys go to Canada that week. Man they will POed at me LOL again thanks for the heads up PAP.
-
Man that's exactly what we're looking for, how far is this from a marinia? I know the guys would like these cabins as they look like the cabins we used to stay in up in Canada. Thanks for any help!!
-
Paul I know for sure that blue water has a cabin I rented it, well put a $75 deposit to hold it for the 2nd week of June. That's when I had my accident and couldn't make it so I lost my deposit money. Good luck, you would think with such good fishing there would be better accommodations, I guess it's the hidden walleye towns. LOL
-
shinintimes get a hold of Sluggo, they go out several times a year, if interested look up Blue water campground, they don't have slips but they do have a cabin for rent. I don't exactly know how far it is to put boat in but it's not overly far. Also Larry from mostlymuskies will help you he is a great guy. Hope that helps a little? PAP.

Thanks guys it doesn't come easy for me but I'm more persistent than a bed bug. LOL
-
Well it's a start Levelwind, at least you got on the water. Sounds like the trip was successful as far a the boat goes!! and you managed a eye also, I call that a great day one the water!!!

I'm going to put a new lower shift cable on this week. I added two more lights to my rocket launcher so they shine on my boards, I added that 4" reflector tape that my father in law got from Pendot that they require for the big trucks, I even put it on my flag. I don't really need more gadgets. I put my 700 series on the dog coop for the rigger guys and of course my elite 7HDI I have mounted up front. I have a center light to shine on the back.
