Did over 60 in 6 hrs off the Catt today. We fished 8 till 2 , and it never slowed down. We fished outside of the pack all day. We selectively kept our 4 man limit. Fished the last 4 days and caught almost 200 total. Not a day in the last month that we didn't limit out. No sign of a major weather change coming up, should be good for a while yet. Wave forecast way off? It has been less than a foot all week just as forecasted. I have fished every day since Saturday, the 12th. And it's been the best weather all summer. And the fish were cooperating all week. Every day at least 30 fish days off the Catt. Yesterday we changed it up and went to dunkirk off vanburen out 130 to 145 fow and ran 2 riggers on the bottom with spoons and put 20 to 25 lake trout in the boat. Smallest was 12 lbs biggest was 22 lbs. There were a few sore arms after 5 hrs of doing that yesterday. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Erie United Mobile App

Small fish all over the entire lake. Wait a few seasons and it will be like 2012 all over again. 2014 (16" fish), 2015 (13-14" inch fiish) , and 2016 (8" inch fish) were all excellent hatches. Be happy about the small fish it's securing the next 10 plus years. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Erie United Mobile App

It has nothing to do with the "old coots" it's all about the time frame. The board of directors is actually swayed to the younger side not the older side anymore. You've got guys like myself who are in their early forties to a couple of people in their thirties to a couple of people in her early fifties and in a few people that are in their sixties and seventies but it is way more swayed to the younger generation now than the older generation. I have other agendas with our tournament than moving it to a later date. I just want modernization to our weigh stations to start. I also would like to cut back on weight stations. Have one at Barcelona, one at Cattaraugus, and one at the club. I feel we don't need a weigh station at SBH or Sturgeon point. Both are within 15 minutes or less from the club. Buy a couple of laptops and printers for the weigh stations and email weights into the club every night. That will mean we need less volunteers to run weigh stations less volunteers to run weigh slips back to the clubs. The whole system and set up would run so much more efficiently. At the club house, our next meeting is early this month because of the tournament. It is Thursday the 8th of June. They are also doing sign ups at the club on frday june 9th untill 8 pm. It's $35.00 for dues, $35 for the tournament. Both are mandatory if your joining the tournament. Then there is an optional $30.00 Calcutta for June 10 ,11, and 17th that pays the top 3 fish of each day. Then an optional $5.00 money prize, they draw names for $500.00 lots till the money is gone. So everything included is $105.00. It is a great tournament to fish for every weather your a novice or a professional. It won't break the bank and there is no pressure, and the awards picnic is a great time. The dates will probably never change and I'm good with that. -

First there is other tournaments on the lake in early july that our tournament would interfere with. Second we have plenty of big native fish to catch this time of the year. Third the 8,9,10,11,and occasional 12 lb fish caught during the Southtowns Walleye Tournament are not our main source of breeding fish. The viable breeders are the 20 to 25 inch fish (4-6lbs). The older fish are not very fertile by the time they hit the 9-10 pound range. Fourth, if you want the dates changed for the tournament next year we are in need of a tournament director for next year. Then you can go to your tournament committee and propose a date change. I for one think this is a great start to the summer fishing season. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Erie United Mobile App -
