  1. This boat is an outstanding and clean Multi-species rig. From trolling on the Finger lakes, Ontario and Erie to chasing panfish, it can do it all. Also a great family boat to pull the kids on a tube or skis. This boat 17'10 long and has a 94" beam, has the 2XB hull and is powered by 115 E-tec. It has a 38 gallon fuel tank, 2 lighted live wells and lots of storage; including an eight tube rod locker and two battery storage compartment in the bow. This is a very stable and safe platform that tops out at 35 mph. The boat sits on a '08 Shorelander trailer with spare tire, surge brakes, boat buckles and a swing away tongue. Tires were new last year. Included with the boat are: Lowrance LMS-522c-iGPS fish finder that is hooked up to a transducer switch at the helm that can change between the stern transducer or hook up to a bow mount trolling motor as well. 2 Penn Fathom master 600 downriggers. w/ weights and boom mount rod holders Lowrance Marine radio model LVR-250 w/ antenna. Minn-Kota 2 bank on-board charger (mounted under dash and wired to the bow battery compartment). 2 removable triple trees. 2 gimbal mounts AM/FM Stereo/CD player w/ MP3/USB hook ups. Bimini top w/ boot. 8 removable scotty rocket launcher style rod holders mounted in the gunnels on each side. Also pictured and included with the sale (see gear picture): Extra Penn Fathom master 600 Downrigger Amish outfitters trolling bag 4 scotty cradle style rod holders w/ extensions 4 extra scotty mounting posts 2 4 foot trailer guide posts with mounting brackets 2 scotty flush mounts Down rigger releases: 3 chamberlains (NIB) and 4 cannons Landing net Anchor w/ rope Life jackets and throwable cushions Box of various j-plugs, flashers/dodgers and flies Cover for boat and motor (not fancy) Partial bottle of XD-100 oil You can winterize this motor yourself in minutes. sold / closed 2019 Starcraft STX 2050

May I ask why you are selling?
  3. I have snap weights to run. Is there a difference between them and a "Gibbs" Weight?
  4. When you guys are running snap weights on long cores do you try and deploy them over dipsys or not? If so, do you let them settle straight behind the boat a while before you send them out on a board? Where do you like to attach the weights to the cores? On the leader or the backing? Thanks DJ
  5. Hoping to head to Barcelona next week sometime, depending on the weather (3 1/2 hr ride for us). If anyone could offer a little info as a starting point it would be greatly appreciated. Have heard that there are some limit catches coming in 70-80 ft east of port, but the fish have been running small. Also, head copper blades were performing well. Thanks again, Dennis
  6. What size dispys do you guys run? Anyone ever see any catch ratio difference between braid vs wire? We've caught fish on dipsys but leadcore seems to produce MUCH better for us.
  7. Duk, I tried to open both links and they came up as blank pages. ??
  8. Cool, thanks. The five feet of depth per ounce is at what speed, 2.0?
  9. I have run harnesses and stick baits but with only limited success. I do not have a precision trolling book since they seem impossible to find, so I usually stick to leadcore, dipsy's and riggers. I would love to know if anyone has a general formula worked out for figuring it out without the book?
  10. RD, Sorry, I'm drawing a blank. What's a WD? How close to the ball?
  11. Andy, Do you run riggers with similar lead lengths to Jack1? I have caught a few off riggers but only off extremely long leads. I also agree with jack that the long leads can be a huge pain when running other long presentations. Most of my fish come on lead core.
  12. Cool. Good start guys! We also take the front hook off our large sticks to widen the wobble and make removal easier. Jack, When you are running them on riggers how long is your lead off the rigger ball? Also, are you running steel cable on your riggers or braid for downrigger line?
  13. Was just wondering what everyone's thought were on spoons? I figured I would try to start a thread where we could share info and try to help everyone on this new site. Do you seem to catch less off target species by chance? Sheepshead and white bass are a pain. I have read that they are a large part of the arsenal when fishing the western basin but I have not found as much info regarding the eastern end. I am always trying to learn new techniques and was wondering if guys here would be willing to share some info? I only get to Erie once a year during the summer and have always gone out of Barcelona. In the past we have run sticks(firetiger, Black and purple) and harnesses and usually have done better on willow leaf firetiger harnesses. But last year we ran all sticks and caught just as many fish. And on a far wider range of colors the 2 mentioned above but also white, root beer, black and silver, and probably few more I can't remember. Last year the sheepshead and white bass were a relentless annoyance. Like everyone else, I am really trying to find a way to avoid them and still catch eyes. I would think that the stinger scorpion size spoons in proven walleye colors would be a good start? Any favorite brands or color suggestions would be helpful to all who read this.
  14. Fished both days and the weather was gorgeous. Took my twin 4 yr olds and my dad out sunday. It was the kids first perch trip and they lit it up! caught all their own fish and caught a bunch of them. For 2 hours I just put on minnows and took off perch. The fish were small but they didn't care. Daniel caught 2 pickerel and he was crazy excited about it. They each caught more fish than my dad! We had a blast.
  15. Was in the water a few weeks ago as well, but plan to hit it hard both days this weekend!
