Perch need to be the first 50 you catch,instead of tossing back smaller ones that will not survive that are seagull bait!I will write a resolution on this change to send through the Federation of Soortsmans Clubs up to NY Conservation Council.I know everyone will say how do you enforce such a regulation,hopefully pure pressure from other anglers saying something when they see it happen. I will address this issue of not having good boat access once ice is out at the next Erie County Fisheries Advisory Board Meeting.We have talked Safe Boat Harbor into one launch dock near the office building.But there is no reason why the launch docks were not put in earlier at Hanover with no ice this year. I went to the Great Lakes International Joint Commission Meeting last night and was allowed to get up and speak.I told them with the blue green algae in Western Basin of Lake Erie and dead spots near Pa line during the summer more Fishermen are moving toward Eastern Lake Erie to launch their boats to fish.All this extra increase of trailered boats from out of state combined with the up turn in boating in our area has over stressed the limited number of launch ramps on the Eastern end of Lake Erie.Also that the break walls at Barcelona & Dunkirk are at a condition that they soon will completely fall apart like the wall did already at Barcelona Harbor.Lastly if we have a know decrease in bait fish,emerald shiners & smelt,why are they allowing commercial seine netting of emerald shiners in the Niagara River to be salted for Trout bait in Pa.The emerald shiner netting Permit should have a closed period until they have finished spawning,this can be done by water temperature. We have been trying to get a New Additional Launch on the Erie County end of Lake Erie for a number of years now! Just as hard as trying to get a Hatchery on the East end of Lake Erie . Politicians agree to talk to you on the subject around election time,then it goes no where.The latest the Politicians told me was you just got a New Boat Launch at the SBH,need to prove it can't handle the trailered boats that use it.
